The ABC Association invites investigators to submit abstracts to be considered for poster presentation at the 20th Annual Scientific Sessions in Delta, BC. Abstracts should describe clinical research in presentation management or basic research in computers. There is no fee for submitting an abstract. Only online submissions will be accepted. The deadline for abstract submission is Wednesday, February 21, 2005, at 5:00 pm Eastern Standard Time (EST).
Policies
- Work covered by the abstract must not have been published (manuscript or abstract) prior to February 20, 2005.)
- If your abstract has been presented or accepted for presentation at another national meeting or world congress, then it should not be submitted to the ABC Association.
- All abstracts accepted will be published in the journal of Computer Development.

Investigator Awards
ABCwill sponsor awards in computers. Award Applicants must be the presenting author and be willing to make an oral presentation in addition to submitting an abstract and presenting a poster. The First Place winner will receive a prize of $1,500, second place will receive $750, and third place will receive $250. All finalists will receive a complimentary meeting registration and travel support for the 2005 annual meeting.
Requirements
To be considered for the Young Investigator (YI) Award, submit an abstract online and check the corresponding box indicating your interest.
Those eligible to apply for the Investigator Award must be either a graduate student, postdoctoral fellow, research fellow, or junior faculty (within 3 years of completing training).
Policies for Abstract Submission, Presentation, and Publication
- Investigators need not be ABC members to participate.
- Submitted abstracts will be peer-reviewed.
- The corresponding author of the abstract will receive an e-mail notification about presentation by mid-April.
- Abstracts selected for presentation will be scheduled in a session on June 7, 2005.
- All presenting authors will be required to register their attendance. (Refer to the meeting registration form for fees and deadlines.) Abstract presenters who register onsite will be required to register at the full attendee price.
Note the following:
1. The deadline for abstract submission is Wednesday, February 21, 2005, at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST).
2. The ABC is not responsible for abstracts that are not submitted online or completed by this deadline.
3. Submissions with incomplete status cannot be processed. Note: You may exit and enter the abstract submission process as many times as needed to edit and complete your abstract up until February 21, 2005.
4. Work covered by the abstract must not have been published (manuscript or abstract) prior to February 20, 2005.
5. If your abstract has been presented or accepted for presentation at another national meeting or world congress, then it should not be submitted to the ABC.
6. Publication : Accepted abstracts will be published in the June 2005 print and electronic versions of the Vascular Medicine and distributed onsite at the meeting. Title and co-author listings will be published in print and electronic versions of the final program.
7. Submission of an abstract constitutes a commitment by the author(s) to present a poster if accepted. Failure to present and register for the meeting, if not justified, will jeopardize future acceptance of abstracts.
8. There is no limit to the number of abstracts an investigator may submit. However, investigators should not submit the same research; and abstracts that appear to be replicate versions of a single study will be rejected.
9. For Abstract Title: Capitalize only words that are always capitalized and do not use non-standard abbreviations. Commercial names may not be used in the abstract's title. If authors' names appear on more than one abstract, please spell them identically on each abstract in order to facilitate proper indexing.
10. For Abstract: Abstracts are limited to 1,750 characters (including spaces and excluding the title or authors and their affiliations).
- Do not repeat or include title or author(s) and affiliation(s) in submission the abstract submission box.
- Use the standard Times New Roman font for text and Symbol font for symbols.
- Standard abbreviations may be used without definition. Nonstandard abbreviations must be placed in parenthesis after the first use.
- Refer to your word processing “Properties” function to obtain a character count.
- Before loading your abstract on the online submission site, use “Spelling” function to spell check your abstract.
- Tables and graphs are permitted.
- Do not include references, credits, or grant support.
Abstract submissions should include a brief description of background, methods, results, and conclusion(s).
Abstract Withdrawal
If you choose to withdraw an abstract after the submission deadline of February 21, 2005, this request must be received by the ABC in writing by March 7, 2005: OWPM, 4600 Kelly Drive , Delta BC .
