AUTOSHAPE
TECHNIQUES
One
of the most common errors with AutoShapes is not typing text directly into the shape but creating a
separate text box and placing it right on top. This makes filling
the shape a two‑step process instead of one. By keeping the
text in the shape, moving the object or updating is a very quick
and simple process.
Practice Your AutoShape and Text
On
a blank page, draw an AutoShape ‑ try a rectangle as an
example. With the shape selected, simply start typing. Edit and
enhance the text by selecting after it has been created.
(Reminder: To
draw a proportional shape i.e. square or circle, select the
desired AutoShape and hold the Shift key while drawing.)
